
About Rron Karahoda
Who Makes the Music?
Rron Karahoda (he/him, b. 1992) is a composer based in Austin, TX whose work explores how the past, present, and future intermingle through music and drama to create new sounds and stories that speak to the needs and challenges of the contemporary world.
His music has appeared at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City, and has been performed and recorded by the NouLou Chamber Players, the University of Louisville Orchestra Strings, and the Da Capo Chamber Players. Rron is also the winner of the Louisville Civic Orchestra's 2021 Pandemic Composition Competition, and his music has been written about in Hyperallergic and the Village Voice.
Rron holds a B.M. in music composition from Bard College and an M.M. from the University of Louisville. His mentors have included Kyle Gann, Alisher Latif-Zade, Joan Tower, George Tsontakis, Barbara Lynne Jamison, Steven Rouse, Allison Ogden, and Krzysztof Wolek.
